How we write

Editorial and review policy

This site publishes reference material on a health-adjacent subject. That obliges us to say how it is written, who checks it, and what we will not put on a page.

Disclosure. The named author and scientific reviewer for this site have not yet been appointed, and the bylines on our reference pages show [[BRACKETED]] placeholders rather than invented names. The policy below describes the process those pages are held to. We would rather show a visible gap than a plausible fiction.

What we publish, and what we do not

Our reference pages cover three things: what a compound is structurally, how material is produced and characterised, and how sealed material is stored and handled. Those are questions with checkable answers.

We do not publish, on any page, in any channel:

  • Any claim that a compound diagnoses, treats, cures, mitigates or prevents anything.
  • Dosing, administration or reconstitution guidance for human or animal use.
  • Efficacy, safety or outcome language, or any framing of a human experience of using a material.
  • A purity figure, molecular weight, CAS number or any other value that is not on a certificate or in settled published chemistry. Where a figure would have to be guessed, it is omitted or shown as a visible placeholder.
  • A comparison of a research compound to an approved medicine as though they were equivalent.

How a page is written

  1. Every page declares the single question it exists to answer, before it is written. That declaration is enforced in the build: two pages cannot claim the same question, which is how we avoid publishing near-duplicates that compete with each other.
  2. Structural and analytical statements are drawn from settled published chemistry and from our own compliance-reviewed product specifications.
  3. A page is reviewed against the exclusions above before publication, and again by a scientific reviewer for technical accuracy.
  4. Nothing is published in a half-finished state. An unfinished page is excluded from the site and the sitemap together, rather than being live but unlinked.

Dates mean what they say

Every reference page carries a visible publication date and a last-updated date, and both are the same values emitted in that page's structured data. We do not refresh a date to signal freshness without changing the content, which is a common and worthless practice.

Corrections

If something on this site is factually wrong, we want to know and we will change it. Report it through contact, quoting the page. If a correction changes the substance of a page, the updated date changes with it.

One thing we cannot do in response to a query about our content: answer a question about human or animal use. That boundary applies to correspondence about these pages exactly as it applies to the pages themselves.

Independence of the analytical record

The content on this site is written by Kovagen. The analytical results it refers to are not: lots are tested by an independent laboratory, which is named on each certificate, and the certificates are published in full at the certificate library rather than summarised by us.

The distinction matters. Our reference pages explain what a measurement means; the measurement itself comes from someone with no commercial interest in the result. Where the two ever appear to disagree, the certificate is the document of record.
