The standard

Quality

Evidence is the product. Everything below describes what we do to every batch — not what we hope is true of it.

Third-party testing

Batches are tested by an independent analytical laboratory, not in-house. An in-house purity number is a self-assessment; a third-party result is checkable by someone who does not work for us.

Testing laboratory: ILS Laboratories, San Diego, California.

Tested per batch, not per product

A certificate belongs to a batch, not to a product line. When we release a new batch it is tested again, and the certificate published against it is that batch's certificate. We do not carry a previous batch's result forward.

What is tested

Three parameters are run on every batch: identity by mass spectrometry, purity by reversed-phase HPLC, and net peptide content — the actual mass of peptide in the vial, which is not the fill weight and is the figure most often left off a certificate.

Contaminant testing — heavy metals, residual solvents, endotoxin and sterility — is run where the material and its intended handling call for it. Which of those were performed is stated on the certificate for that batch, parameter by parameter, with the method used and the specification the result was measured against. A parameter absent from a certificate was not tested, and we do not imply otherwise.

Traceability

Every vial carries a batch number. That batch number is the key to its certificate: you can look it up without contacting us, and the result you find is issued by the laboratory rather than by us.

Handling and dispatch

Material is held sealed and desiccated from release through dispatch. Vials are individually protected for transit. Shipments travel at ambient temperature — appropriate for lyophilized powder, and stated plainly rather than dressed up.

What we will not do

  • Publish a purity figure that is not on a certificate.
  • Attach one batch's certificate to a different batch.
  • Describe a material by what it might do in a person. These are research materials, supplied for laboratory research use only.
