Glow Blend: structure and analysis
What it is
A three-compound blend supplied in a single vial: GHK-Cu at 50 mg, TB-500 at 10 mg, and BPC-157 at 10 mg. The notation 50/10/10mg gives each component's mass in that order.
The three components span an unusually wide range. GHK-Cu is a copper-complexed tripeptide, TB-500 is the full 43-residue thymosin beta-4 sequence, and BPC-157 is a 15-residue synthetic peptide.
One of the three is a metal complex, which makes this blend chemically more heterogeneous than a combination of plain synthetic peptides.
How it is produced
Supplied as a blend: the named components are combined and co-lyophilized into a single vial, with the mass of each component stated. The components are produced separately and characterised before combination.
This changes the analytical question. For a single compound, purity asks what share of the detected material was the target. For a blend there are several targets, and what matters is whether each named component is present at its stated mass — per-component identification and quantitation rather than one purity percentage.
Confirming identity
Three independent identity confirmations are required, one per component. For GHK-Cu that confirmation has two parts, since the copper content establishes that the complex formed as well as that the tripeptide sequence is correct.
The three components differ greatly in mass — three residues, fifteen residues and forty-three residues — so distinguishing them from one another is unambiguous.
Analytical considerations
Quantitation rather than purity is the question: is each named component present at its stated mass. Three components means three separate determinations.
The copper complex complicates the chromatography. Copper can interact with the stationary phase and with residual metal in the instrument path, so a method for this blend has to accommodate a metal-complexed analyte alongside two conventional peptides.
The size spread also means no single set of chromatographic conditions is ideal for all three: a tripeptide is weakly retained under conditions that suit a 43-residue peptide well.
Storage conditions are set by the least stable component in the vial.
What its certificate reports
A certificate for a lot of this material names the lot, names the issuing laboratory, and states for each parameter both the method used and the specification the result was measured against. Identity and purity are the two core results; net peptide content states how much of the fill weight is actually peptide.
A certificate belongs to a lot, not to a product line. When a new lot is released it is tested again, and the certificate published against it is that lot's certificate — a previous lot's result is never carried forward.
